The World Freestyle Football Association announced on May 6th, 2025 the opening of the selection process to elect the Destinations that will host the major events of the official Freestyle Football competitive circuit during the 2026 season, including the five physical competitions of the Pulse Series and the jewel of the crown of the tour – the World Freestyle Football Championship.
All candidates (be them event agencies, city councils or any other kind of organisations) will be required to follow a process that will allow the WFFA experts to evaluate their proposal, including not just the physical facilities they can offer to the participant athletes but also the values and adequacy of the candidacy.
The selection procedure will include four stages, during which the candidates will be asked to provide key information about their proposal. The process will happen as follows:
1. Expression of interest: deadline July 15th, 2025
1.1. Candidates will be required to email partnerships@worldfreestylefootball.org with an introduction to their organisation and destination
1.2. The WFFA will forward the candidate the Request For Proposal (RFP) presentation, which outlines all requirements needed to submit an application
1.3. Candidates will be asked to prepare a presentation to excite and cater to the needs of the sport, the event and its participants
2. Confirmation of shortlisted options: announced on August 1st, 2025
2.1. The WFFA will contact the selected applicants individually and confidentially, including:
a) A total of 15 candidates for the Pulse Series, including 3 preselected destinations for each of the 5 regional qualifiers (Africa, Europe, North America, South America and Asia-Pacific)
b) A total of 5 candidates for the World Freestyle Football Championship
2.2. The WFFA Partnerships team will then set up a video call with the 20 selected destinations to learn more about their proposal and organise a site visit
3. Site visits to all shortlisted options: happening between August 5th and September 30th, 2025
3.1. The WFFA Operations team will visit all shortlisted destinations to understand the logistics and the logic of each option
4. Host destinations selected: communicated privately on October 15th, 2025
4.1. The WFFA Partnerships team will notify the winning candidates privately
4.2. The WFFA and the winning candidates will align on all the required documentation and sign the necessary contracts to confirm the agreement
4.3. The representatives of the selected destination for the World Freestyle Football Championship 2026 will be invited to the 2025 Finals of the event, where all the stops of the 2026 Global Circuit will be announced
Once the process has been completed and the announcement has been made, the best male and female athletes in the sport of Freestyle Football will compete in the Pulse Series around the world from May to October 2026 for the chance to qualify for the World Freestyle Football Championship and be crowned the best in the world.
