The curtain of this year’s edition of the Pulse Series fell in style in the enchanting Mexico between October 24 and 25 as the regional champions were crowned at WFFA Pulse Monterrey, the official qualifier in North America for the 2025 edition of the World Freestyle Football Championship.
The tournament, hosted in partnership with the organising committee for the FIFA World Cup 2026 host city of Monterrey, featured an intense 1×1 battle format, where the best freestylers competed to determine the champions of the male and female categories. The local crowd roared with excitement as athletes from a variety of countries across North America showcased their unique styles and cultures, both on and off the ball.
The 2025 edition of the tournament saw the first-ever victory of an Panamanian as Diana ‘Karol’ Rojer took the crown in the female category. In the male bracket, Jeff ‘Pagu’ Chacón, from Costa Rica, wrote his name in golden letters in the book of Freestyle Football after a thrilling final against local hero Guillermo ‘M3mo’ Mondragón.
The excitement did not end there, as four more freestylers (two men and two women) earned their places in the upcoming World Finals:
- Mathilde Fortier, Canada
- Guillermo ‘M3mo’ Mondragón, Mexico
- Yahaira ‘Yaya’ Zapata, Mexico
- Dayron ‘Dayronman’ Mata, Costa Rica
With the Pulse Series done for the season, all the eyes of the Freestyle Football fandom move now to the last two competitions of the year: the NextGen World Championship, happening in a fully online basis between October and November… and the jewel of the crown of the circuit, the World Freestyle Football Championship, which this year will take place at the beautiful spa city of Sopot, in Poland.
